An embroidery sampler that when complete you can sew into four festive holiday ornaments, perhaps with customized messages of love on the backside.
This sampler includes four heart panels for you to embroider by hand. They used back stitch, running stitch, satin stitch and french knots, but you can choose your own stitches to suit your own taste. For best results, they recommend using 3 strands of embroidery floss or size 8 perle cotton in your needles.
The sampler arrives preprinted on cotton quilting fabric, ready to stitch and includes basic instructions. You provide your own threads, needles, and hoop.
PLEASE NOTE: This item is not embroidered, but ready to be embroidered by YOU. The pictures show one way to fill in the design, but you can choose whatever colors/threads you like.
What size is it?
This Sampler measures approximately 10" x 10".
What thread should I use?
We use a combination of size 8 perle cotton and/or embroidery floss.
How should I back my sampler?
For best results, they recommend backing this fabric with a second piece of fabric (cotton or linen) before placing your fabric in the hoop. You'll get the flattest, most even stitches this way.
What size hoops should I use?
They like a size 6—but use whatever you hoop you have on hand.
