The pattern is hand drawn by Rebecca Ringquist and printed on fabric. It arrives ready for you to hoop and stitch. They stitched theirs all in back stitch, which couldn't be easier. Yours could be stitched with backstitch, french knots, or a stitch of your own invention! (Satin stitch would be incredible!)
PLEASE NOTE: This item is not embroidered, but ready to be embroidered by YOU. The pictures show one way to fill in the design, but you can choose whatever colors/threads you like. Dropcloth Samplers are packaged in up-cycled packaging.
What size is it?
This Sampler measures approximately 5"x 5".
What thread should I use?
They use a combination of size 8 perle cotton and/or embroidery floss.
How should I back my sampler?
For best results, they recommend backing this fabric with a second piece of fabric (cotton or linen) before placing your fabric in the hoop. You'll get the flattest, most even stitches this way.
What size hoops should I use?
They like a size 6—but use whatever you hoop you have on hand.
