The Blackwing Matte contains the same soft graphite formulation as the since renamed "Blackwing Palomino."This graphite pencil glides effortlessly for bold shading and smooth writing.
• The Pearl has a balanced and smooth graphite core that is softer than the graphite found in the Blackwing 602 but firmer than the graphite found in the Blackwing Matte. Perfect for daily writing, journaling, and sketching.
• The 602 is firm, smooth (similar to B) The pencils feature a gunmetal grey finish and a famous square Blackwing ferrule with a pink replacement eraser. “Half the Pressure, Twice the Speed.” imprinted on pencil.
