Ladislav Sutnar, was born in Plzeň (Czech Republic) in 1897 and died in 1976 in New York City. Sutnar was a pioneer of graphic design and shared with his taste for bright colours and simple geometric shapes with his contemporaries of the Bauhaus Design movement.
A game designer, in 1921 he created the “Factory Town”, a very pure educational game of blocks that Vilac reissued 100 years later in cooperation with the artist Gérard Lo Monaco and the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art.
3 unique copies still exist in the world, including one exhibited at the MoMa in New-York.
